The short answer
For a standard 60" wide x 78" tall shower stall, a frameless door and fixed panel is about $1,550, including installation. On a standard bathtub, a frameless door and panel is about $1,400.
Larger openings, extra panels, corner and steam enclosures, thicker glass and premium finishes cost more. After a free on-site measure, we give you a written price for your exact opening.
Typical prices
| Frameless door + panel, standard stall (60" x 78") | About $1,550 |
|---|---|
| Frameless door + panel on a bathtub | About $1,400 |
| Corner, neo-angle and steam enclosures | Quoted after measuring |
| 1/2" glass, low-iron glass, gold or black hardware | Adds to the price |
What drives the price
- Number of panels. Each extra panel adds glass, hardware and labor.
- Glass thickness. 1/2" glass costs more than 3/8".
- Glass type. Low-iron (ultra-clear) and frosted glass cost more than standard clear.
- Hardware finish. Brushed gold and matte black often cost more than chrome or brushed nickel.
- Steam showers. Floor-to-ceiling glass, transoms and full seals add cost.
- Odd shapes. Sloped ceilings, notches and out-of-square walls take more fabrication.
- Removal. Taking out an old framed door adds a little labor.
Ways to keep the cost down
- Choose 3/8" glass unless your opening is very large.
- Pick chrome or brushed nickel hardware.
- Use a door and one fixed panel instead of three panels where the layout allows.
- Finish your tile completely before we measure, so the glass fits the first time.
Is frameless worth it?
Frameless doors cost more than framed doors, but they're easier to clean, look more open and are a common upgrade buyers notice. Our frameless vs. framed guide covers the trade-offs.
